There's MORE to the story. Jason somehow scored the tix from his long time "association" either with Jefferson Starship OR Mickey Hart of the Greatful Dead
as it was a SOLD OUT..."moments" after the tix went on sale.

Better YET, Leslie "arranged" a "blind date" for ME...who WAS "gorgeous" BUT

No she was NOT "blind" BUT...
let's just say....
her "elevator" didn't REACH the "top"... FLOOR" ?
OR
SHE was "two bricks" SHY of a FULL LOAD ?

we were ALMOST onstage
YET she made ME hoist her UP on my shoulders
for LIKE and HOUR or so !!!
( well..MADE isn't quite right...she DID ..have a NICE "Tush" !
and it WAS...."pleasant" ? )

the "beginning" IS an even better "Tale" .....
we're taking Jason or somebdy's VW Kombi van....SO gonna drive 280 to SFO
cause Jason "insists" he knows the "perfect" place to park.....
SO...I .."pre-load' the van with one of my stereos...BUT....speakers ( only stereo)
arranged FRONT and BACK..."sideways" as I'm "anticipating the VISTA
we'll enjoy..."lights below" as it will BE night !!! and TEWNZ are...a MUST !!!!

so when we get there we ARE HIGH.....above...the Cow Palace....where JD's
"mystery parking place" SOES "exist BUT.....the "obvious question once we park IS
HOW R we ...gonna GET down THERE ???? and Jason says HIKE.....
last time I remembered the word "hike" implied UP this was MAJOR DOWN...
and with two.."femme fatales" no less and U can "guess" what happenned ?

we ended up "falling"...rocking and rolling" DOWN the hills/trees/shrubs...etc...

rolling UP onto the macadam...ashphalt...near the front door...line of people
waiting to get in.....immediately ther's a "hub-up" from EVERYBODY.....
"Get IN LINE...."quick".....so we do...not having a CLUE ?
shaken from or "tumbles" ?

all of a sudden there are "gestappo" EVERYWHERE...saying....is THIS HER ?
( they pull Leslie outta line...BUT the crowd says NO....then they "give up" ? )
so ..."clueless" as I WAS...I asked the guy next to me
"What's UP with THAT.....? he replies RU kidding !!! just turn around and LOOK behind U ...the LINE IS....over a MILE long...U just "cut" in FRONT...
successfully I might ADD"

NO KIDDING...
I'm NOT making this UP....we DID...and had NO clue !

we were less than 15 people from the FRONT DOOR !!!!
in a LINE that "stretched OFF the "horizon" !!!
SOLD OUT WHO concert at the Cow Palace !!!!
 
So one we are inside...almost onstage....
Jason is "frenetic"...doing "donuts" round and round..."impatiently" asking...
"When's thiis CONCERT gonna START"....
outta the corner of my eye...I SPOT  Bill Graham himself BUT
he's wearing a full body set of white coveralls...and his "trademark" hat
STAGE LEFT...bu NOT onstage..on the floor and say to JD
"Why don't U ask THAT guy"  ( hee hee )

he DOES go over to talk to Bill Graham...and comes BACK BUT ...
not until the next DAY...did I tell HIM.....
DUDE that WAS Bill F'ing Graham !!!!! ( NO then I didn't say DUDE !!! )
