The TV show "Cheers" ...
came about...because of 3 guys ....
IN my Harvard Biz Skewl class
3 guys
hung out at the "Hampshire House" downstairs
THE "Bar" .... turned into "Cheers"
( Bostonians were SO "Pissed" the name has "reverted" back )
First ...there was Steve Conway
- sat at the corner barstool ALL the time
- worked in British/Scottish Banking
- became Ivan Boesky's ... "Banker"
Then there was the guy sitting next 2 him
Steve Swain
- was "Nuclear NAVY" ..NOT the Post Office
- couldn't handle ANY GIRL saying NO
- always "saddled up" w/Dick Andre
- went for the "UGLY" friend
- we "broke in" to his dorm room
- I climbed thru the window
- others were making "snow angels"
- he was "in flangrado del grando"
- but 2 his credit...he came 2 the window
- in the "nude"
- and "admired" the Snow Angels
- Did I "mention" at our 25 th reunion...he showed UP w/a restored Maserati Bura" !
OK...now there's the "Sam" character
THAT was.......Richard Andry.... from N'Orleans !
major "Babe Magnet"
that's why Steve Swain and he would arrive together
"Norm"/Steve Conway" would already BE...at the end of the Bar
"Inevitably" ...BE ...some "Twinks"
the "Good News" IS...they always travel in pairs
( girls that IS )
BUT
in this case....Hampshire House
there was always the "Butt Ugly" second
with the "Knock ME down" Gorgeous one
which went for Dick Andry
so Steve Swain ALWAYS ended UP
( actually I'm giving a wrong impression..
as Steve ALWAYS went for the "other" one )
Anyway
Dick Andre IS....."Sam" ( I am ? )
There IS ... a "lesson" 2 B learned HERE
A guy,,,who shouldantabeen "admitted" to my HBS class
"partied" w/us all
he went back to HollyWood
BUT
wrote ALL this UP as a "treatment"
a "Treatment" in H'land IS
a "simple" paragraph ..an "idea"
ANY one of You'se havfve 5 times a day
x'cept...in HollyWood
U write IT down
and make $$$ IF...it gets "Picked up"
in THIS CASE ....

"fleshed out" ALL 3 "characters"
got "picked up" by the "Brooks Brothers"
and became....
the series
U now know as..."Cheers" !
