Steve asked me to come AND to get there early
saying something like "You have the best  Visuals"
( we were doing Via Video by then )

no kidding he sent a female NYT reporter to my Winnebago
when she "knocks' and I open she "leads" with

"Steve Jobs says I should come interview YOU
as you have the Best Toys"

I replied the SV "standard" party line

"We all know...he who dies with the most toys....wins"

because of Steve

the networks would simply go to our booth
and reshoot
what was playing on our Mitsubishi 520 TV
( we had converted to the first RGB TV)

with the Big Bad "Via Video" logo plastered across the TOP

all 3 networks!!!

so she senses something "untoward" and says to herself
( Steve JOBS needs to know about THIS ! )
and calls him at NEXT
( he pretended to be his own "Personal Secretary" )

when he realizes who she is
he says
" Mrs. Job..this IS Steve, I've known your son for many years"

and apparently they chatted for a bit
( only Steve and God knows why and what ? )
