I ran into him in Paris
as Via Video did a LOT of business
with Societe General
YES that firm where ONE GUY
lost like  $ 7.6 BILLION
in bad trades !

I was just checking into this incredible old "Renaissance" hotel
who's name I can't remember
but it's always in the movies
I'm second in line however a tall dark guy with a beard
leans backward with his elbows on the rail to my right  BUT
I didn''t "notice" who he was as I was totally "focused"
on the "stunning" blonde right beside me that he was talking to !
when i was my "turn" as I began to turn towards the counter
 I looked up asa he's very tall and YIKES ! it was him
I was like a "deer in the headlights" I guess
"stunned" I guess "staring" into his eyes
and he laughed and said "hello"
all I could come up with was
"WOW" what are you doing here ?

IF I remember "correctly"
they had just gotten married and they were on their "honeymoon"
so after taking care of "check-in"
he noticed the "Brown Eel-skin" briefcase I was carrying
made a comment and then asked me what I did
These were the Cromemco years
and any musician always "lit up" when I told tham what we did
particularly since we had the only NTSC video that "gen-locked"
meaning we were the only one you could both record
and it would "lock up" to what's called
"House Synch"

he gave me his room number
and said to come by
but all I did was slip a catalog under the door

I's very impressive to meet someone who is so famous
who is STILL very real
and NOT "full of themselves"

I don't even think I ever said how big a fan I was of BOTH
him and Santa Barbara
( is the MOST like the Kona Coast of Hawaii "feeling" )
